I’m unsure if many of you will understand how cool this is. DC just released an animated version of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns. As you can see, they brought the cover to life. If you blink, you might miss it, but for those who do catch it, you might do a nerd squeal. When I saw it in the movie I got goose bumps.
Peter Weller (Robocop) plays an aging Bruce Wayne who struggles to stay retired from being Batman. Kevin Conroy will always be my favorite Batman, but I think Weller’s cold baritone suited this story perfectly. I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Just as much as Nolan’s live action versions. I don’t really understand why animated stories like this can’t get the full theater treatment.
